Even when I'm enraged and emotional there's a part of me that is shocked to realize a whole new side to my partner that I never saw before. It's so shocking to see how different people truly are. We still fight, but in the end instead of a huge explosion we can have a calm and honest discussion where we can learn more about each other.

The reason I wanted to learn type was to have a better relationship with my son. I love my son so much, but it was difficult to understand him as we are so different. When my husband and son were taking a bath, my son told my husband, "Mom is such a nag." I was so shocked and this made me want to review the relationship. After learning my type and my son's type, I realized that my son's behavior, which I had trouble understanding, was actually his personality type. Through this new understanding, the time we spent together became more enjoyable. My relationship with my husband, mother, sister and friends have also changed. I thought I would prefer to be alone but I began to understand that I desire to build warm relationships with others. I couldn't stop crying when I first put my feelings into words. Until recently, I thought that stability and staying comfortable with my routine was the path to happiness. I would often lose self-confidence or suddenly cut off relationships, but Type helped me to understand myself and balance myself. I would often take on too many tasks and then would lose confidence in myself for not being able to do them, or would suddenly explode and cut off relationships. After understanding my own type I've learned to ask others for help which has in turn helped me to become more emotionally stable. By deepening my self-awareness I've become more cognizant of what others expect from me and how to meet those expectations when I am able.
